ABOUT ME
Caitlin Nelson, LMFT

Life is full of changes and transitions, and I believe that relationships are a constant through these changes. I also believe that relationships are the most important things we will do throughout our lives.
We tend to think that relationships will be easy, but in reality they are much more challenging than that. Whether they are with our friends, family, romantic partner, or even ourselves, healthy relationships require us to be vulnerable and to take risks. Just like life's changes and transitions, relationships provide us with many opportunities to get to know ourselves better and to understand why we do the things we do.
I am here to help you learn how to lean into the vulnerable moments of your relationships, how to choose connection and closeness over protective reactions, and how to balance acceptance and growth.

I received my Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from The Family Institute at Northwestern University and my Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Psychology from Wheaton College. I am a trained facilitator in Prepare/Enrich, which is an assessment tool that I use in premarital sessions, and I am an out-of-network provider. I provide superbills for you to submit to your insurance, using your out-of-network benefits.
